Snowfall warning in effect for:
  • Elliot Lake - Ranger Lake
  • Blind River - Thessalon
  • Espanola - Killarney
  • Manitoulin Island

Snowstorm continuing tonight into Tuesday.

Snow from the Colorado low that will cross the Lower Great Lakes tonight and Tuesday has brought a large area of snow with it as expected.

Significant accumulations of 15 to 20 centimetres are likely by the time the snow tapers off Tuesday afternoon. Local blowing snow is possible during the event.

Ice pellets or freezing rain may also mix in with the snow tonight for several hours, particularly for areas from Manitoulin Island towards North Bay and briefly as far north as Sudbury. This may reduce snowfall accumulations in these areas somewhat however travel is expected to be hazardous.

Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.
