Two separate fatal crashes close Highway 17 near Sudbury

Crashes have closed two sections of the highway, detours are available

The crash on Highway 17 near Hagar this morning is also fatal, the OPP said on one of their Twitter accounts at 11:47 a.m.

There are detours via Highway 537 and Highway 535.

Highway 17 is now closed in two separate areas in this region.

The highway is closed between Highway 537 and Highway 535 in the Markstay area due to a collision. The reopening time is unknown. No further information about this crash is currently available.

Highway 17 is also currently closed between Lively and Whitefish after an early-morning, single-vehicle crash involving a tractor trailer running into a rock cut. Other local media are reporting that this crash was fatal.

The OPP say they're investigating a "serious crash" on Highway 17 involving a tractor-trailer colliding with a rock cut. It was single-vehicle crash. The westbound lanes of Highway 17 between Lively and Whitefish are still closed. It's unknown when the road will reopen.

The westbound lanes of Highway 17 are closed between Lively and Whitefish this morning after a single-vehicle collision involving a tractor-trailer early this morning.

The OPP said there's a detour using Municipal Road 55.

The reopening time is unknown.

There's been a single-vehicle collision involving a tractor-trailer on Highway 17 westbound at Bay Street in the Naughton area, the OPP said in a tweet at 6:32 a.m. Tuesday.
