While Elliot Lake struggles to.attract general merchandise retailers, it seems there's no shortage of investors wanting to sell marijuana in.the city.
In fact, there may be two licensed marijuana sales outlets opening soon in Elliot Lake.
Sessions continues to be under construction with its new store on Prince Edward Walk, adjacent to the lower plaza LCBO location.
Now a second outlet, called Miss Jones, has applied for a license, planning to open in Pearson Plaza.
People wishing to comment on the Miss Jones proposal can go to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) website to do so.
Ironically, in all the years since Elliot Lake was founded, there remains only one LCBO outlet and one Beer Store doing business in the community.
