Red Wings drop neutral site contest to Eagles

Trailing by three midway through the contest, the Eagles stormed back in a neutral site contest played at Rankin Arena

It was all Red Wings in the first period, first with a goal from Josh Tomasi at 6:24.

Jovani Moses then added to the lead at 9:39, giving the Red Wings a 2-0 lead the club would carry into the first intermission.

A power play goal by Jace Symington-Lesanko at 7:28 of the second period made it 3-0 Red Wings. 

The Eagles got on the scoreboard at 13:57 of the second thanks to a goal by Jack Mortson.

In the third period, Chase Tallaire scored for the Eagles just 28 seconds in, cutting the Red Wings lead to one. 

The tying goal for the Eagles, shorthanded, came at 3:34 by Michael Szlag.

Benjamim Moak put the Eagles ahead for good at 11:22 of the third.

Tomasi had a goal and an assist for the Red Wings in the game while Alex Antoine assisted on a pair of goals.

Elliot Lake netminder Colton Donaldson made 43 saves.

Mortson and Tallair had a goal and an assist each for the Eagles while Marc LaFrance assisted on two goals.

Logan Rafaelle made 24 saves for the Eagles.

In other NOJHL play on Friday night, the Espanola Express beat the Greater Sudbury Cubs 5-3, the Hearst Lumberjacks topped the French River Rapids 5-3, while the Cochrane Crunch edged the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners 2-1.
