Our Lady of Fatima School hoping for new crop of Future Saints

Kindergarten Preparation Academy starts Tuesday

They're aiming to be Future Saints.

The principal of Elliot Lake's Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School, Andrew Chi, has announced the school's kindergarten registration for the new term commencing September 2020.

"Our Future Saints Program starts next Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2020. We have also begun registration for Kindergarten for families in Elliot Lake and the surrounding area," said Chi.

In announcing Our Lady of Fatima's Kindergarten Preparation Academy, Chi noted all sessions will run from 6 to 7:15 p.m. in the school at 140 Hillside Dr. N. On Jan. 28. Topics to be covered include English, reading and writing, and ESL, NSL.

The next session and all others will also be held on Tuesday nights. Parents are encouraged to attend the five sessions with their children. The program is open to any prospective kindergarten students and there is no obligation for them to register at Our Lady of Fatima to attend the Academy.

Sessions include Feb. 4, arts - visual, drama and dance. On Feb. 11 the topic is science and technology, coding iPads, and science experiments. The Feb. 18 session covers math games and activities, and the final session on Feb. 25 is involved with physical activities in the gym, a bus ride, and social time.

There is no registration fee. Students will need indoor shoes. There will be snacks provided at each session. Spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

To register for kindergarten in September 2020, applicants must be four years of age by Jan. 1, 2021.
