ONTARIO: Dashcam captures moment truck crashes into hydro pole, lands on house roof

No injuries, driver charged with careless driving

Ontario Provincial Police charged the driver of the truck with careless driving. No one was injured in the collision.

A section of Highway 64 has reopened after a box truck collided with a hydro pole and landed on top of a home in Alban on Sept. 9. 

St. Charles resident, Sharon Gauthier sent Sudbury.com this dashcam video that her husband captured on his way home from work.

In the video you can see a truck leave the highway. It appears to hit the ditch before striking a hydro pole, causing the back end of the truck to lift up and land on top of the roof of a home. 

The driver of the truck appeared to be uninjured as he exited the vehicle.

Ontario Provincial Police closed off a section of Highway 64 in Alban between Courchsene Road and Highway 607. The highway was reopened by 3:25 a.m. on Sept. 10.

No word yet on charges, injuries or the extent of the damage.
