One new COVID-19 case reported by APH

Algoma Public Health is reporting one new COVID-19 case in the region today.

The new case, which brings the total number of COVID cases in Algoma since the start of the pandemic to 342, is in the Sault Ste. Marie area.

Tested on May 6, the individual was infected through close contact with a known confirmed case and is currently self-isolating.

There are currently 26 active COVID cases in the region and two hospitalizations of non-Algoma residents who are temporarily in the region.
