Blind River council has chosen Jennifer Posteraro to fill the vacant seat on council.
Five candidates were vying for the position vacated by the death of Coun. Clifford Spratt in August, at a special meeting this afternoon.
The decision was unanimous with the exception of Coun. Jim Dunbar who abstained.
Mayor Sally Hagman and councillors Paula Summers, Betty Anne Dunbar, Steven Wells and HP Roy voted in favor of Posteraro filling the position.
She will be officially sworn in at the September council meeting.
