Elliot Lake Mayor Dan Marchisella has announced the tragic loss of his teen son Brody.
In a brief statement posted to social media Monday morning, the mayor said: "I have not spent much time on social media lately and will probably avoid it for a while longer. I wanted my friends and family to know about a tragic loss to us all that happened this weekend. Our son Brody's life ended shocking us all.
"Brody was just 17 and becoming a most amazing young man. For any that knew Brody, he was a kind and caring soul who changed my life for the better and that of everyone he knew.
"Brody was not just my son, but one of my best friends. I love you Brody and hope we will see each other again someday."
