For the Knights of Columbus Free Throw Competition at Georges Vanier school

This year's Free Throw Competition hosted by the Knights of Columbus was at Georges Vanier school.

Ten year-old Summer Strong, representing Our Lady of Lourdes school, said this was her second year participated in the event and can't wait until next year's competition.

"I like it a lot," she said. "Now I really want to try again next year for sure. I want to get first place next year."

Sitting in the crowd and smiling during her daughter's turn, mother Natalie DesGroseilliers said she was very proud of her daughter for competing again at this year's event.

"For me, she did super great this time," she said. "She improved to third (place) when the first time (she competed), she came in seventh."

Around 60 competitors from Elliot Lake's seven schools participated and competitors ranged from nine years old up until 14 years old. Each age group hosted numerous competitors.
