WATCH: Province pauses social circles amid COVID second wave

Advises all Ontarians allow close contact only with people living in their own household and maintain two metres physical distancing from everyone else

Today, Doug Ford announced that effective tomorrow at 12:01 a.m., masking policies already in place in some communities will be expanded to the entire province.

Wearing a mask is mandatory while shopping, on public transit, and while at work.

A news release issued by the province states that starting Saturday it is, "Pausing social circles and advising that all Ontarians allow close contact only with people living in their own household and maintain two metres physical distancing from everyone else. Individuals who live alone may consider having close contact with another household."

As well, the province is "finalizing additional guidance for seniors (70 and over) on how to minimize their risk of acquiring COVID-19, including for upcoming annual gatherings such as Thanksgiving and Remembrance Day."

Starting Tuesday, all COVID-19 Assessment Centres will be moving to appointment-based testing only. Walk-ins will no longer be accepted starting Sunday.

Reopening of additional businesses across the province will be delayed for 28 days.

Restaurants, bars, and night clubs in Ottawa, Toronto and Peel Region must limit capacity to 100 customers or less effective at 12:01 a.m. tomorrow.

Group exercise classes at gyms will be limited to 10 people, and facilities must limit capacity to 50 people or less in these regions.
