Police are investigating after human remains were found north of Sudbury.

The remains were found on Metagama Road, which is off Highway 144 about halfway between Chelmsford and the Watershed.

"While the cause of death cannot yet be confirmed, investigators believe there is no imminent threat to public safety, although the OPP reminds all members of the public to be aware of their personal safety at all times," said OPP in a news release.
