Here are the top fundraisers from Saturday's Walk for Alzheimer’s

The Elliot Lake Alzheimer’s Walk held last weekend saw several walkers receive prizes, according to organizer Randi Lacko, local community outreach coordinator.

The total amount raised this year was $7,697. The highest amount raised was from the team Forget Me Nots with a total of $1,306, the highest Children’s team, the Alzheimer’s Angels came in with a total of $875. Top individual was a husband and wife team Sue and Sam Patriqiun who brought in each $510.50.

The Alzheimer Society of Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District hosted the 12th annual Walk for Alzheimer's in Elliot Lake on Saturday afternoon.

This year’s walk was hosted by the society which teamed up with chief sponsor IG Wealth Management in the fundraiser to bring in money to cover costs associated with assisting those suffering from the disease and related dementia. The society serves some 1,000 clients in the region.
