For over two years, Juicy Jen's has been juicing up Elliot Lake, Blind River and their surrounding areas.
Originally from Sudbury, owner and operator Jennifer Thomas said she began the process about juicing to help herself lose weight after having children.
"I have three children so I looked into it and decided that juicing was the best way to lose weight," she said. "I decided to try bartending as a way to get out of the house and the idea of juicing came to me."
Thomas said the juicing was successful for her and she lost weight by continuing this process.
"I dropped weight kind of fast," she explained. "It has helped a lot."
Since her husband works in Sudbury, Thomas said she fulfills orders from customers up in the Sudbury area.
"My husband will deliver the orders to towns from Sault Ste. Marie up until Sudbury," she explained. "We have a great rapport with customers. Business has been really up and running lately. Typically, we deliver the orders 24-48 hours after the order is made and sometimes it can be delivered on the same day."
The way Thomas makes her juices is from fresh fruits and vegetables she says comes from local vendors. Examples of some fruits and vegetables she uses are carrots, cranberries and cuccumber.
"It's nice to shop local," she said. "I like to support local vendors and the farmer's markets."
