Former city treasurer assumes new role at hospital

The former treasurer of the City of Elliot Lake is coming back to town as vice-president finance and corporate services at St. Joseph's General Hospital (SJGHEL).

Hospital CEO Jeremy Stevenson announced Dr. Tim Vine's appointment in a news release. 

Full text of the release follows:  

St. Joseph’s General Hospital Elliot Lake is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Timothy Vine to the position of vice president of finance and corporate services/CFO, effective June 6, 2022.

Mr. Vine will succeed Sanjeev Kumar.

Tim Vine has held progressive leadership roles directing financial reporting, analysis, and research for highly diversified public and private sector organizations. Most recently he was interim Co-CEO and VP/CFO at the Manitoulin Health Centre. Tim is a strong finance professional with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Doctor of Philosophy in Political Science, both from The University of Western Ontario.

Tim is currently undertaking his Master of Business Administration and Certified Professional Accountant designation. Tim and his wife are very pleased to return to Elliot Lake and once again serve the community.

They both enjoy spending time outdoors with their two dogs.

CEO Jeremy Stevenson was pleased to welcome Mr. Vine and said, “Based on Tim’s extensive background and experience, I am looking forward to the contributions he will make to advancing our vision of working in collaboration with health providers to establish a first class Centre of Excellence for patient health care in our region.”

Mr. Stevenson noted that he would like to thank Mr. Kumar for his dedication, service and support of SJGHEL over the past three years: “He helped the organization not only become financially stable, but has put us in a strong position to invest in our staff and organization. We will miss him and wish him success in his new position.”
