Elliot Lake firefighters held their annual Christmas fundraiser with donations of cash and food going to the local food bank.

And despite some cool and wet weather Saturday, they raised a total of $15,757 in cash and non-perishable food items with motorists dropping off donations at the delivery location on the former civic centre property.

“The Food Bank is blessed by the support it receives from our Firefighters,” said food bank president Len Kutchaw. “No matter what the weather is like, they always do a great job in getting the community to support their food drive.”

“On behalf of our Board, Volunteers and Clients, we extend sincerest Thanks,” he added.

Food donations can still be delivered at the fire hall.
