Elliot Lakers were digging out this morning from a two-day snow storm.
The storm dumped rain, ice pellets and about 10 cm of snow yesterday and overnight. Yesterday evening OPP was warning motorists to drive carefully or stay off the roads.
The weather caused a hydro turbine to explode and catch fire on Axmith. About 600 Hydro One customers in the Axmith area lost power from about 6:30 p.m. until around 5:30 a.m. this morning.
City work crews have been busy clearing streets, sidewalks and parking lots.
Snow is expected to taper off this evening.
