The Elliot Lake ATV Club hosted a community cleanup on Saturday Aug 24th on the Elliot Lake ATV Trails, sponsored by Unsmoke Canada.
The hardworking volunteers collected 1,034 lbs of litter of all sorts including many cigarette butts, and ensured it was recycled properly. The Elliot Lake ATV Club is devoted to protecting our environment and is excited to work alongside 20 groups across the country with the support of #UnsmokeCanadaCleanups.
“This year marks the fifth year of #UnsmokeCanadaCleanups, and we are proud to say we have supported more than 75 organizations across Canada. We have empowered hundreds of thousands of volunteers, collected more than 5 million pounds of litter, and picked up nearly 4 million cigarette butts, maintaining the beauty of Canada’s communities.” – Lori McCullough, Founder of The Great Outdoors Fund
Unsmoke is eager to support these groups and their hardworking volunteers as they continue to make a positive impact. #UnsmokeCanada is an initiative of Rothmans, Benson & Hedges. Unsmoke is guided by the principles of "if you don't smoke, don't start; if you smoke, quit; if you don't quit, change." This initiative is committed to fostering conversations and spreading information about potentially less harmful alternatives for adults who might otherwise continue to smoke.
