Only weeks after being appointed Treasurer of the City of Elliot Lake, Dr. Timothy Vine has tendered his resignation to Elliot Lake City Council.

Dr. Vine came to Elliot Lake this year where he became deputy city Treasurer. He was recently promoted to City Treasurer.  At last night's Elliot Lake City Council meeting, Dr. Vine tendered his resignation.

Elliot Lake CAO Dan Gagnon says the departing Treasurer has accepted a senior position with a nearby health care organization.

Dr. Vine will be taking on the role of Vice-President of Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer with the Manitoulin Health Centre in mid September.  The City of Elliot Lake will begin recruitment to staff management positions in the Treasury Department including Director of Finance / Treasurer and Deputy Treasurer.

Elliot Lake Mayor Dan Marchisella noted: "We are sad to see Dr. Vine go and on behalf of Council and the community thank him for his work ethic and dedication." The mayor adds, "While Tim was only with the city for a relatively short time, he made valuable contributions and we wish him well in his new endeavours."

Mr. Gagnon notes, "The City of Elliot Lake is also pursuing interim resources to maintain all financial service levels and operational requirements."
