Grade 12 students completing their high school studies at École secondaire catholique (ÉSC) Jeunesse-Nord in Blind River will be celebrated this evening (Wednesday, June 16) at 6 p.m. during a virtual graduation ceremony.

ÉSC Jeunesse-Nord will enhance this recognition event with the presentation of certificates of merit, graduation gowns and mortars, and other elements of appreciation to students in drive-through format. This event will be broadcast on YouTube.

“We wish our graduates a great deal of success in the next stages of their life. We encourage them to tap into the wealth of knowledge they have acquired in CSC Nouvelon schools while remaining outstanding and well-rounded citizens who are proud to be Catholic and Francophone and are ready to take their place in society,” said Mr. André Bidal, CSC Nouvelon board chair.

"We congratulate our graduates for having drawn on their technological skills with such success and for showing tenacity and resilience. Through this effort and their ability to surpass themselves and meet new challenges, our students can take pride in having completed their high school studies with flying colours. They can now look to the future with confidence,” added Mr. Paul Henry, director of education at CSC Nouvelon.

“Tonight, we will celebrate our students’ successes and academic achievement. This ceremony will marks, for each and every one of our valued students, the completion of an important moment in your life. This ceremony will be entirely dedicated to you, dear students, as it represents the crowning of all the long years of work and learning. The last four years also included strong emotions ranging from joy to sadness, and also required a great deal of dedication on your part,” stated Mr. Hassan Azzi, principal at École secondaire catholique Jeunesse-Nord.

“This year’s celebration is not the one you had dreaming of. The exceptional circumstances that have affected Blind River and the rest of the world for almost a year and a half forced your graduation ceremony to take a completely unwanted and unexpected turn. This does not diminish your remarkable achievements, and you have every reason in the world to be proud of what you have achieved,” added Mr. Azzi.

“Later, we will focus on celebrating a beginning. During your years at École secondaire catholique Jeunesse-Nord, you demonstrated the resilience and characteristics that make you well-rounded citizens who are proud to be Catholic and Francophone and are ready to take their place in society ready to take their rightful place in society. Jeunesse-Nord’s loss is the world’s gain. From this moment, you are part of the next generation of adults who will strive to build a better world. Whether it's in college, university, the workplace, apprenticeship, or back to school, success is awaiting. Go ahead, dive into your dreams and make them happen! You have the ability and desire required to achieve them and experience further success,” concluded Mr. Azzi.
