Blind River woman arrested for trafficking

On July 6, 2019 officers with the Patrol Services Unit of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 28-year-old Linda Lafreniere of Blind River and 25-year-old Joshua Wilson of Farwell Terrace for possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. 

In the early morning hours of July 6, 2019, the two accused were seen leaving the downtown area in a vehicle at a high rate of speed. Officers located the vehicle, and the two accused a short time later standing outside of the vehicle. 

The Canine Unit was called in to assist. Officers found a bag containing approximately 14 grams of cocaine and brass knuckles. Officers took the two into custody. 

Ms. Lafreniere is charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of a prohibited weapon.

Mr. Wilson is charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possession of a prohibited weapon and one count of possession of a prohibited weapon contrary to an order. 

Both were held for bail court.
