Several Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon athletes stand out at the local, regional and provincial levels! Congratulations to the students who excelled this week in Nordic skiing during the Northern Ontario Secondary School (NOSSA) championship held this week in North Bay.

Among students standing out, we count Sophie Azzi, Grade 10 student at École secondaire catholique Jeunesse-Nord (Blind River) won second place; Rochelle Larivière, Grade 10 student at ÉS du Sacré-Coeur (Sudbury), won a bronze medal; and Grace Raddon, Grade 10 grade student at ÉSC Jeunesse-Nord (Blind River) finished 4th. Their performances therefore deserve a qualification for the provincial secondary school (OFSAA) championship in Collingwood next week.

We also congratulate Sophie Azzi, student at ÉSC Jeunesse-Nord (Blind River), as well as Tiana Chalifoux, Meghan Raddon and Annie Azzi, all from École Saint-Joseph (Blind River) for being selected to compete in the biathlon competition, which combines cross-country skiing and rifle shooting, at the upcoming Ontario Winter Games to take place in Orillia from Feb. 27 to March 1.
