Blind River’s Timber Village Museum (TVM) is planning an exhibit of works by Blind River-born Indigenous artist Cecil Youngfox.

The museum is looking for owners of Youngfox art willing to temporarily donate to the display at the gallery adjacent to the marina.

The exhibit coincides with what would have been the artist’s 80th birthday. Before his untimely death in 1987 at the age of 45, Youngfox had established himself as one of Canada’s leading Indigenous artists.

TVM is curating the tribute exhibition set to open in September and is seeking temporary loans for the display.

Those interested in donating to the display can contact TVM at 705-849-3006 or via email at [email protected]. Call or email before Aug. 26.
