A set of riverside concerts each Thursday evening in July and August in Blind River will again get centre stage.

Blind River City Council, at its Monday evening meeting, endorsed a request from The Rotary Club of Blind River to host the event again this year. Known as Concerts by the River, the club has held the concerts featuring area musicians from 7 to 8 p.m. each Thursday evening.

“I just want to say what a great event this is that the Rotary Club puts on every year,” Councillor Paula Summers said. “We get a lot of people coming in from all over the place to watch this rain or shine.”

The concerts will be held at the Centennial Joe Sidock Memorial Gazebo near the town office. If it rains, cancerts will moved to a covered unit on the other side of the river. The club will also have use of electrical outlets at each site.
