Blind River Community Days plans in the works

Agrees on street closures for events July 14, 15

Residents, organizations, businesses, and now council is putting the finishing touches on this year’s Community Days festivities that will take place July 14 and 15.

Council, at its Monday evening meeting, agreed on two temporary road closures and allowing the local Lions Club to operate the beer garden.

Council agreed on the closure of Hudson Street and Woodward Avenue to the Park Street intersection for the Community Days Parade on Saturday, July 14. The closure will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Council also endorsed the closure of Woodward Avenue to Lawton Street, Lawton Street to Murray Street and Murray Street to Woodward Street to allow for the car and bike show that will take place on Sunday, July 15. The closures will be in place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Details of the agreement for the Lions to operate the beer garden are still being nearing completion.
