Music and Film in Motion (MFM) is still accepting admissions for the Northern Ontario Music and Film Awards (NOMFA) until 5 p.m. on Jan. 11, 2019.

MFM is dedicated to fostering and promoting the music and film industries in Northern Ontario, striving to connect music and film artists and practitioners with opportunities and resources to advance their projects and their careers.

NOMFA 2019 will be held in Sudbury from May 23-25, 2018, celebrating the best of the past two years in film, television, and music. Having launched in 2008, this marks the third time the event will take place on a biennial basis.

NOMFA invites eligible applicants to submit film, TV, and music projects that have been released commercially between Jan. 1, 2017 and Dec. 31, 2018.

Music categories include Best Album, Best Engineer, Best Songwriter, Best Vocal Performance on a Recording, and Best Video by a Northern Ontario Musical Act. Film/TV categories include Best Feature Film, Best Short/Mid-Length Film, Best Television or VOD Series, Best Director, Best Screenwriter, and Best Performance by an Actor in a Northern Ontario Production.

Submission forms can be filled out by anyone who owns or has licenses to all copyright for submitted material, or is authorized in writing by the owner to submit for them with the authority to execute the authorization.

A non-refundable entry fee of $15 per category must accompany all entries. These fees help to cover administrative and handling costs.
