Now there are four candidates authorized by their parties to run for the federal seat in Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing. The Green Party has selected Max Chapman of Little Current as their standard bearer. Mr. Chapman is attending Queen's University in Kingston where he is seeking his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Studies.

In the ongoing campaign for voter support in the Oct. 21 federal election, Mr, Chapman says he will advance policies, including a national agriculture program, proportional representation, and restoration of protection for Canada’s inland waters.

He has worked for the YMCA at John Island Camp as a manager and wilderness guide. His experience in the outdoor education field has included travel throughout northern Ontario. He believes that protecting the natural world while growing the economy in a sustainable way is vital to its success.

Chapman says the politics and industries of the past are no longer working for everyday Canadians and it will take bold new leadership steps to achieve needed change.

Max Chapman was acclaimed as the Green Party candidate by the Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing Green Party Riding Association.

He can be reached through his Facebook or Twitter accounts @MaxChapmanAMK or on the phone at 705-348-0658.

Max Chapman joins Liberal Heather Wilson; Conservative David Williamson and incumbent, Carol Hughes for the New Democratic Party, on the list of riding candidates heading to the fall vote.
