Two new wildfires in the northeast region

Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services (AFFES) has reported two new wildfires in the northeast region.

Those fires are located on an island in the southern bay of Redstone Lake, designated Bancroft 2, and approximately 8 kilometres southeast of Powassan, designated North Bay 3.

Sault Ste. Marie 5, which is located in Ojibway Park in Garden River, and shut down Highway 17B on May 9, is under control. 

There are 16 wildfires currently in the region.
