Blind River mayor Sally Hagman is calling on residents to put on a light in recognition of Doctor’s Day on Friday.

“Doctors’ Day happens every year on May 1 to highlight work doctors do to keep us healthy. With this year’s Doctors’ Day falling in the middle of COVID-19, the Ontario Medical Association is organizing a special moment so Ontarians can come together from a distance and participate in celebrating doctors,” she said in an email. “On May 1 at 9:00 p.m., we’re asking Ontarians to Shine A Light For All They Do.”

“Any support you can provide is greatly appreciated,” she said.

Hagman is hoping people will turn on a light either an outdoor light at their homes or other lighting they wish to provide to mark their recognition
