Mayor Dan Marchisella took to social media Monday morning to urge his fellow Elliot Lakers to remain vigilant in the fight against COVID-19.

In his Facebook post, Mayor Marchisella said, "There have been additional cases (of COVID-19) in Algoma District but we in Elliot Lake are still clear at the moment, meaning no cases here in Elliot Lake that I am currently aware of, and yes we get regular updates."

He went on to explain that residents need to continue in being more vigilant than ever:
    •    If you are classed as vulnerable, please stay home and use the city's delivery services, 705-849-0970
    •    If you have just returned home from vacation, continue to self-isolate for the full 14 days
    •    Refrain from any non-essential travel outside of the community
    •    Continue to practice social-distancing
    •    Keep clean, hands sanitized, face protected, etc.
    •    Stay calm and be respectful of others

"We are close to the plateau of this virus now and hopefully within the next week or two we will see the numbers start to drop," he concluded. "Stay safe, Elliot Lake and friends."
