COVID cases at Marymount Academy, Pius XII school in Sudbury

Marymount Grade 7B and Native Language class asked to self-isolate, as is the Grade 1 class at Pius XII

The Sudbury Catholic District School Board has announced COVID-19 cases have been detected at two of its schools - Marymount Academy and Pius XII Catholic Elementary School.

As a result of the Marymount case, the following classes have been dismissed immediately - Grade 7B (directed to isolate immediately up to and including Feb. 4) and the Native Language Class that runs Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. (directed to isolate up to and including Feb. 3).

In terms of the Pius XII case, the school’s Grade 1 class has been dismissed immediately, and has been directed to isolate up to and including Feb. 4.

The individuals who tested positive at both schools are currently self-isolating and being monitored by Public Health Sudbury & DIstricts.

As this situation is under active investigation, the board advises families to continue to check the schools’ or the board’s website for updated information, or to phone the relevant school.
