ONTARIO: Ford supports tweaking border restrictions to reunite families

This comes in response to Trudeau's earlier statement that the federal government is looking into how to help immediate families reunite across the Canada-U.S. border

Premier Doug Ford commented today on the potential changes coming to current Canada-U.S. border restrictions. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has said tweaks to the current policy could allow for immediate families to reunite, but he did not offer specifics on how quickly this policy change could come.

Ford responded positively to Trudeau's announcement, saying he supports what the prime minister is recommending.

The premier also stressed that he wants to keep a very tight border with strict screening measures, but highlighted "the importance of reuniting families."
