LIVE: Trudeau expected to unveil details about loan program, commercial rent relief today

LEEFF was announced last week, but many businesses have complained about a lack of details regarding eligibility

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is slated to update Canadians on COVID-19 at 11:00 a.m. today.

The federal government is expected to unveil more details about its promised loan program for large corporations and commercial rent relief for small- and mid-sized businesses, including more information on how businesses can apply for the programs and what conditions apply.

The Large Employer Emergency Financing Facility (LEEFF) was announced last week, aimed at providing short-term bridge financing to companies with $300-million or more in annual revenues looking for loans worth at least $60 million but unable to secure them from banks or other private lenders.

Village Media will carry the livestream, so stay tuned.
