Dennis Bastien & David McEwen of the Knights of Columbus presented a cheque for $1,000 to the St. Joseph’s General Hospital Foundation.
The money was raised through bingo and the Knights of Columbus wanted to support the oncology fundraiser because the hospital is important to the community. Dennis used to be a volunteer driver for Huron Lodge, so he recognizes the value of medical care being offered locally.
The Hospital Foundation is raising $1.6 million to upgrade the local oncology unit. They have made a commitment to fully fund the project by this fall.
